As a Sr. Electrical Engineer and NERC Compliance Manager, I’ve played a key role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of hydro power plants in Alcoa TN/ Knoxville TN. Some of my notable project experiences include:
700 MW Hydro Power Plants: As the Sr. Electrical Engineer and NERC Compliance Manager for 700 MW Hydro power plants, I was responsible for ensuring compliance with critical regulations and standards governing the operation of these plants. This required deep expertise in both electrical engineering and regulatory compliance.
Arc Flash/Short Circuit Study and Stability Studies: As an SME, I was responsible for leading the Arc Flash/Short Circuit Study and Stability Studies for HV and MV assets across a variety of projects. I utilized tools like SKM, PSSE, and ETAP software for implementation, ensuring compliance with FAC and PRC requirements.
Cheoah Hydro Upgrade (DOE and Alcoa & Brookfield): In this project, I served as an SME for MOD and TPL (N-01, N-02) regulatory standards and the power gem process for AFC/ATC calculation for hydro generation. This required deep expertise in both regulatory compliance and power generation.
MATALB/SimPowerSystem s™: I utilized the MATALB/SimPowerSystem s™ and its analysis tools for modeling Alcoa’s Transmission and Generating assets in the SERC region, comparing the results with PSSE analysis. This required deep expertise in simulation and modeling, as well as a deep understanding of the unique needs of the Alcoa plant.
Overall, my project experience demonstrates a deep understanding of electrical engineering, regulatory compliance, and power generation. My expertise in a variety of critical areas makes me a valuable asset to any project, and I’m committed to delivering exceptional service and support to my clients. Whether it’s ensuring compliance with critical regulations or optimizing power generation for a hydro plant.
